[NEWS] F.T Island to Hold 2010 Asia Concert

FT Island will give their fans a New Year gift as the boys will pay a visit to their fans via their ASIA Tour. In 2 months period of January until February the boys will start touring in Asia. They will start from Japan, Thailand,Taiwan, Hong Kong, Philippines and Singapore.

Much anticipation it is since a report came and stated that FT Island concert tickets in Taiwan (with 3000 seats) are sold out!

According to FT Island company F & C Music,” One of the reason of the good respond (sold out ticket) is also be affected by Lee HongKi’s recent drama “You’re Beautiful”. And this is such a good start for FT Island’s ASIA Tour!”

FT Island will hold a show in Tokyo on December 23rd. And, for their next year Asia Tour, they will start their tour by performing again in Tokyo-Japan on January 20, 2010, then continues to Bangkok-Thailand on February 6, whilst on February 27 they will do their Taiwan’s Concert. As for Hong Kong and Philippines (held in Manila) schedule is said to be held on February as well.

[NEWS] Lee Hong Gi Wants to Participate in You’re Beautiful Season 2 ^^

FT Island member Lee HongKi expressed his reluctance with SBS drama ‘You’re Beautiful’ coming to an end.

Lee HongKi has participated in the drama as an actor, he said, “But still because the story is about idol group, it was comfortable acting in the drama. In the future, I want to be a better actor in front of TV viewers, I want to try the role of a villian.”

Lee HongKi’s role as A.N.JELL Jeremy in the drama has received much love from viewers. And in real life, many Lee HongKi fans have also visited him during his filming. He said, “Drama and FT Island fans would bring samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) and seolleongtang to show support. It was really conforting and encouraging. Thank you.”

There was an impressionable episode aired on the 19th November in the drama where HongKi has sung the song ‘Really Good Words’ while doing a crying scene as pointed out by viewers. The song is actually one of the award-winning songs for 2007 MBC Creative Children Folk Songs Festival.

Lee HongKi said, “Director Hong had looked at the script and told me to just act it comfortably according to my emotions. I had really teared during the filming for this scene. I was shocked that many netizens and TV viewers have been talking about it on the internet too.”

Being hailed as the atmosphere-maker of the team, HongKi recalls spending mid-autumn with the staff previously, “The atmosphere for the drama is really good and it makes it enjoyable. And if there is a 2nd season to ‘You’re Beautiful’, I want to participate again even if it is not Jeremy’s role and just a cameo appearance. And also I want to try make A.N.JELL an idol group not just in the drama but in real life.”

Meanwhile, the drama will come to an end with its 16th episode on 26th November.

[NEWS] “Don’t Disparage Us When Hong Gi Is Not With Us!”

“Our abilities have always been overshadowed by vocal Lee Hongki but it’s time to show them now.”

We have received the interview replies from FT.triple members Lee Jaejin, Choi Minhwan and Choi Jonghoon, who are busy with their unit activities right now. In FT Island, vocal Lee Hongki catches one’s eye easily. In order to overcome the barrier of not having Lee Hongki with us on stage, the 3 “Bloodtype A Brothers” come together and said that, “In order to attain the synergy effect for FT Island, we want to do better activities.”

Firstly, they’ve got a change in their band positions. Lee Jaejin switched from bass to vocals, while Choi Jonghoon switched from guitar to piano. With an Indian teenager outfit and gorgeous appearance, Choi Jonghoon said that, “I have confidence of playing the piano as I’ve learned it since 6~7 years ago.”

▶ Heads for the game room when there is no schedule

Choi Jonghoon is chosen as the most straightforward member in the team. He himself agreed with the statement too. “I don’t like to pretend. It also seems like a problem because I don’t have much to show. I also make a lot of mistakes when talking.”

Lee Jaejin and Choi Minhwan agree with Choi Jonghoon. “We started our 2009 nationwide concert tour on 14th and 15th November at Seoul’s Jangchung Gymnasium. Because all of us have our own solo stage, we have to learn the choreography by heart. At some point in time, Jonghoonie-hyung started showing expression of dislike. A female dancer who’s a year younger than him caught his slackness. He’s in for it. Haha.” (Choi Minhwan)

The members have been staying together since such a young age, no wonder they look so comfortable with one another.

“When there is no schedule, all 5 of us will gather at the game room. All of us like playing games.” (Lee Jaejin)

They also continued to talk about Lee Hongki, who’s currently filming for SBS drama “You’re Beautiful“.

“Actually, when I saw Hongki for the first time in the drama, he gave me goosebumps. But now, I’m totally into his drama role. He studies the character well, that’s why he could portray it just like himself.” (Choi Jonghoon)

▶ Wants to have a rock band rival

Lee Jaejin stands in as the main vocal of FT.triple and they released an album “Two Date” together with FT Island’s 2nd repackage album. Their music has a different atmosphere from that of FT Island.

Using a letter to express the worries for an ex-lover, their title song “Love Letter” leaves a deep impression with its slow beat melody and realistic lyrics. Lee Jaejin’s vocal gives off a different feeling from Lee Hongki’s.

“Hongki-hyung’s voice is husky and sorrowful, that touches the heart of the listeners, while mine is sturdier. I feel embarrassed to say this myself. (laughs)” (Lee Jaejin)

Choi Jonghoon laughed even harder with a humorous expression. “To sum it up, Jaejin sounds just like his age, while Hongki sounds like a middle-age man. Haha.”

Being slightly different with other idol groups, the rock band said that, “We hope to have a rival.”

“If we are to choose someone to be our challenger, there’s none, in fact. If there’s a rival, we would want to win.” (Lee Jaejin)

FT.triple revealed that, “It’ll be good if we can hear people comment, ‘Ah, so they have this kind of image too!’ That’s our target.”

[NEWS] F.T Island to Release Their 1st Full-Lenght Japanese Album

Flowerboys from Korea, FT Island, is creating a topic in the Japanese music scene and they have revealed that their new album「So long, Au revoir」will be released on 16th December. FT Island has received compliments on their music for their first full album, increasing their confidence level.

In addition to this, they will be holding a “One Man Live Concert” at Zepp Tokyo on 23rd December. Public sales of the tickets have started on 21st November.

FT Island members, who have came to Japan earlier in October to meet their fans, will return to Japan again after a short interval for the “One Man Live Concert“. During their last visit in Japan, fans followed them to every single event, showing their high level of popularity there. Fans might find it harder to get tickets for their upcoming concert.

FT Island members are currently busy with other activities. Vocal Lee Hongki is filming his drama while FT.triple members are doing their unit group activities.

[NEWS] F.T Island Will Hold a Concert

FT Island will hold their concert as planned despite the increasing number of swine flu cases.

FT Island will be holding their concert at Seoul’s Jangchung Gymnasium, on 14th and 15th November. South Korea’s government has declared red alert against swine flu. Despite that, FT Island’s management company, FnC Music will work together with the event organiser, to increase the precautionary measures to fight against swine flu.

Besides the basic hand washing facilities, the other precautionary measures include setting up of temperature scanners at the entrances and exits of the concert venue, so that people with body temperatures higher than normal will not be admitted into the hall. In addition, a disinfection tunnel will be set up at the entrance so that everyone who enters the venue will be free from viruses.

They will also make sure that medical service is readily available so that any suspect cases can receive checkup and treatment right away.

FT Island revealed that, “It will be a pity if we do not carry on with the great performance due to swine flu. Even if the costs have to increase, we hope that everyone can still enjoy our concert without worrying, as we have set up precautionary measures.”

It has been quite some time since the members of FT Island are coming back together on the same stage to do a performance for their fans. Lee Hongki is currently filming for the SBS Wed-Thu drama “You’re Beautiful“, while Song Seunghyun is active in various variety programmes. Lee Jaejin, Choi Jonghoon and Choi Minhwan are doing activities for their unit group, FT.triple.
